Reunion

It has been a long time
since last I saw your face
we have both grown
taller and more weary
wrinkled,yet stretched to bursting
It has been a long time.
We were so young then
unknowing what our futures would hold
we stood together, faces bright and shining
We expected the world to be kind, supportive, caring
And now time has passed and our trust it seems
was misplaced on ideals, not on the way things were
We have all grown,
and life has all but taken back
that which it had so freely given
in the days gone by.
I am not sorry for the passage of time,
rather that it has been so long
since last i saw your face, or heard your voice.
And it is good to see you,
my friend again
