The downfall

It has never been the place of the higher class to challenge the status quo. It is in their best interest to keep things as they are for themselves and their children. In fact every revolution in the history of the world has been instigated by the middle classes in the name of the lower classes. The working people who are supposed to best benefit from the overthrow of corupt governments often become slaves to diffrent rulers when the revolution has settled down and order is resumed. The fact is that very little has changed. The middle have moved up, the upper classes that don't support the changes put forward are executed in one way or another. and the lower are for a time put in the spotlight only to be ignored with time as the new ruling class becomes like the old one.
When we look at the many changes in the political system in recent years it is easy to see where we are going as a society. First we begin by forcing schools which have nowhere near enough funding to meet standards which are not achieveable by any means. Then when we see that they are failing we blame the schools and move towards a voucher system which will take money from the schools that are already struggling. This all happens under a banner of having schools compete when truthfully the private schools already have the funding they need to outperform their public counterparts. Besides not having to meet the same standards because they are private, they can still charge parents for more money in order to give them a better education. Eventually where this puts us is no funding of public schools because they have their whole budgets taken away and given to schools that have greater income because they are not relying on simply tax income, infact as more vouchers are used they are given more and more tax breaks so they grow and thrive. So where does this leave the poor who cannot afford to send their children to expensive private schools? They either drop out and feed a growing lower class both by joining the job force as well as having more children so the cycle is repeated, Or they are put in cheap schools and are taught only remedial skills that will keep them in the lower class as well as their children for generations to come. Is this what we are voting for when we say Yes to vouchers?
