A poem

Every poem ought to have a table of contents
a place to tell you where its going
to redirect your thoughts
and to warn you of which buttons it will push
A poem should be like that
Life should have a glossary,
a place to turn when you don't know what things mean
a grouping of words that you may encounter
so you know what space means
And love, and friendship
life should be like that
My friends should have an index
to let them know where to find me
so when I get lost they can show me where I went
to show me where my headings are
To show me what I was doing before I got here

and explain why it is so cold sometimes.
